Happy Birthday MCR.

A LETTER FROM THE FOUNDER

October 18, 2024

Dear MCR Community,

Today marks a monumental milestone for the Math Contest Repository: we are celebrating our one-year anniversary! As I sit down to reflect on the journey that has brought us here, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement. It’s incredible to think about how far we’ve come in just a year, and I want to take a moment to share how much this achievement means to me and to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been a part of this adventure.

When I first envisioned the Math Contest Repository, it was a personal project born from a passion for mathematics and a desire to make practicing for contests more accessible. What began as a modest tool to help me and a few friends streamline our study sessions has evolved into something far greater than I ever imagined. Seeing our platform grow from a simple database of problems to a thriving community with over 300 registered users and 330 community members fills me with immense pride.

Each statistic we boast today—1400+ problems, nearly 4000 solution submissions, and hundreds of subscribers to our weekly POTW puzzles—is not just a number. It represents countless hours of hard work, dedication, and passion from everyone involved. It reflects the enthusiasm of students who are eager to challenge themselves and the creativity of problem setters who contribute their brilliant minds to our cause. This growth is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together with a shared vision.

I want to extend a special thank you to our incredible executive team and my brilliant dev team for promptly fixing bugs and other issues with the platform.

To every volunteer, contributor, and user—thank you. Your support, feedback, and enthusiasm have been the driving force behind our success. You have helped us build not just a platform, but a community where students from all over can come together to learn, compete, and grow.

As we celebrate this one-year milestone, I am filled with a deep sense of accomplishment and optimism for the future. The Math Contest Repository is not just my project; it is a collaborative effort that has become a source of inspiration and joy for many. I am excited to continue this journey with all of you, exploring new features, hosting more contests, and finding innovative ways to make math practice even more rewarding.

Thank you for believing in the Math Contest Repository and for being a part of this incredible journey. Here’s to many more years of learning, growth, and success!

With heartfelt appreciation,
Savir Singh
